Dr. Zeynep Maçkalı
(Clinical Psychologist-Psychotherapist)
She received her bachelor's degree from Boğaziçi University, Department of Psychology and her master's degree from Okan University, Clinical Psychology Master's Program. She received her PhD degree from Hacettepe University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program with her dissertation research on the effect of Holistic Cognitive Model-based group intervention for bipolar disorders. She is currently working as a faculty member in the psychology department of a private university.
She also works as a clinical psychologist-psychotherapist at Aura Psychotherapy, Art Treatment and Education Center. She has adopted the Relational Integrative Psychotherapy approach. She also utilizes art therapy techniques when working with individuals and groups. In her clinical practice, she works with young adults and adults with individual psychotherapy. She also continues her individual supervision work with psychologists who provide psychotherapy services.
Her professional interests include emotion regulation difficulties and mood fluctuations, relational needs, psychological resilience, self-compassion, creativity and art-based preventive and protective mental health studies. She also works on the development and dissemination of a training program for the professional development of mental health professionals working with children with developmental disabilities and their families within the scope of early intervention in autism.
She is a member of the Turkish Psychological Association. She is responsible for the Early Intervention Program in Developmental Disabilities at the Autistic Association. She is one of the founding members of the Art Therapy and Creativity Association and currently serves on the board of directors of this association and works as an instructor in the association's training programs. She is also a board member of the Bipolar Life Association.
