Alican Kocabalkan

Alican Kocabalkan completed his undergraduate education at the department of Psychology (BA) in Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey and his master's degree at the department of Health Psychology (MSc) in University of Surrey, United Kingdom. He published his dissertation titled "Nurses' Experiences of Braking Bad News: An Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis" in the Journal of Psychological Counseling and Education with its Turkish adaptation in 2015. He is a Psychodrama Assistant, having completed ‘Primary Stage’ training at the Istanbul Psychodrama Association in Turkey.
He is currently training at Florida Psychoanalytic Center, USA, studying Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course.
In addition to his studies on psychology, he played basketball professionally and played for the national team in youth categories. He received C category basketball coaching certificate in 2012. He also provides psychological counseling and education for athletes. He has been actively involved in Otistikler Derneği (Autistics' Association) since 2012 and is currently the supervisor of the ‘Alternative Development Program’.
He’s been working with a psychodynamic approach with children, adolescents and adults, since 2013, at Aura Psychotherapy, Treatment with Art and Education Center. He works both in Turkish and in English.
